SCHOOL HISTORY
February 2004, Mrs. Denma K. Kinkito, the secondary school coordinator of of the Division of Negros Oriental then, approached Mr.Genaro V. Antonio, SNHS Principal and Mrs. Evangeline T. Mira, Master Teacher I in Science at the Principal’s office and told them about the move of the Division of Negros Oriental to put up a Science High School in Siaton in consonance to DECS Order No. 69, s. 1993 which encourages the establishment of Science High School in regional basis. This would start as Special Science Class based at SNHS while waiting for the approval from the Regional Office upon the submission of the pertinent papers to put up a Science High School.

The Local Government Unit of Siaton, headed by Municipal Mayor, Hon. Vincent Emil T. Arbolado who gave his approval after being informed, also passed his decision through the Sangguniang Bayan members headed by Vice Mayor Rowel C. Gabo who in turn, passed together with the eight SB members , the SB Resolution No. 161 requesting the Schools Division Superintendent , Mrs. Aleli R. Abne to open a Science High School in Siaton. The resolution stated that it will be built at Napacao, Siaton since there is a land space donated by the Pajunar family and that the Local Government Unit of Siaton will support and help the school. The proposed curriculum of the school was borrowed by Mrs. Evangeline T. Mira with the approval from Mrs. Denma K. Kinkito from Bais City Science High School and also the entrance test materials were also coming from such school headed by Mrs. Susan Sinoag, the TIC.
School Year 2005-2006, the number of students who intended to enrol for the First year Special Science Class were 40 but after being ranked according to the test results in English, Science, Math, Filipino and Abstract Reasoning with a passing mark in the interview, only 35 students made it as the first special science class students. Mrs. Evangeline T. Mira acted as the Science teacher and Class Adviser while selected teachers of SNHS taught the other subjects as part of their teaching loads.
School Year 2006- 2007, II- special science class with 28 students were enrolled after surviving the rigorous one year while another set of 42 first year students were also enrolled after passing the test and interview as I- Special science class. The Napacao site was not pushed through because of some family disagreements with the heirs of the proposed donated lot. June 2007, marked the start of a good school year since the Regional Office gave the go signal to operate through a paper signed by Regional Director, Dr. Carolino Mordeno. The enrolment for first year was 41, second year, 30 and third year, 26. Now, the name Siaton Science High School came into being but still based at SNHS. Mrs. Evangeline T. Mira acted as the teacher-in-charge of the school within the school and Mrs. Winesa A. Santander as the only full time teacher. Selected SNHS teachers were still the subject teachers of other subjects other than math and science classes. Miss Avelina C. Eltanal, SNHS Principal, was also instrumental for the making of some pertinent papers for approval to open this science high school.
February 2008, with the able leadership of Mr. Licerio T. Napao as the OIC, Schools Division Superintendent of Negros Oriental, he made a move through a usufruct agreement with the district supervisor of DepEd elementary of Siaton a 2 CL building for Siaton Science High School at the side of Mantuyop Elementary School was built. With strong governance of Mayor Vincent Emil T. Arbolado , Vice Mayor Rowel C. Gabo and SB members ,equally as well and with strong support of Congressman Henry Pryde Teves and leadership of Barangay Mantuyop Captain Silvano Macalipay, the school was formally established and inaugurated on March 3, 2008. This was attended by all the parents, barangay, municipal and provincial officials, teachers and students.
School year 2008-2009, the first batch of graduating students, the Pioneers, 24 of them marched on March 31, 2009 as the first graduates. There is a continuing support from the government side, from Congressman Teves, from Mayor Arbolado, Brgy Captain Macalipay, from the PTCA, teachers and students of the school until today for we have enjoyed the fruits of sacrifices of everybody who believe that Siaton Science High School will be a reality fulfilling her vision and mission until this day March 3, 2010 the 2nd anniversary. In all of these, the Almighty GOD gives His blessings and mercy for the school to grow and be developed and should be thanked above all. The pioneer faculty headed by MRS. EVANGELINE T. MIRA , the principal, together with 6 strong and competent teachers, Generoso Gadayan,Dan P. Alar, Winesa Santander, Jeofel Pialago, Mildred Ocariz, Menchie Rado , the school will live and take pride of their students , teachers , parents and supportive stakeholders.
